Walking and Unknown Aleatoricism:

The world reveals itself

Lately I have been walking a lot. I took these photos very near my apartment. It is quite a blessing to live near such beauty.

This reminds me of an aphorism coined by the film director Werner Herzog:

“The world reveals itself to those who travel on foot.”

What you’re seeing in this picture is the ancient beach rocks near my apartment that are at least 10,000 years old.

Night walking

The world around us has its own little artworks that mostly go unseen. We might call this Unknown Aleatoricism.

.......

All we have to do is walk and be available.

.......

So, let’s “walk on”.

And one night we saw a little hare who kept a safe distance but was not that afraid of us. It was Lepus Europaeus, in fact; an animal of great interest!

I’ve noticed the same thing before: During nighttime they are not so afraid. In the small hours, they can actually ignore you completely!
