Who are we?
We are a Finland based group of artists with different creative backgrounds. Our work is interdisciplinary and is primarily focused on music, dance and audiovisual art such as art films. The collective has performed with various line-ups in Finland, United Kingdom and Iceland. The collective was originally founded in 2017 by artist Lauri Peltonen.
Our work is largely influenced by avantgarde, surrealism and experimentalist ways of working that include improvisation and spontaneous composition. One of the primary aims of Oneiros Resort has been to explore the relationship and a possible equivalency between dance and music and to create a new form of self-generating collective art.
In the creative process every member in OR acts as an artistic director of OR.
Aim:
Our aim is to create a collective connection with creativity; to spread our work and perform as wide as we can; and to be a part of creating something new as a contribution to the whole of human culture.

History:
There is a chain of events that led to Oneiros Resort: Lauri
Peltonen started doing guitar ambient performances from 2010 onwards. From 2011 he worked on a form of dreamlike electronic music that
combined guitar soundscape with rhythmic elements and for example some
80’s style drummachine and synth sounds.The name Hotel Oneiros came to be in 2013 as a way to verbally define
the project Lauri wanted to start. (The name Oneiros Resort was also
conceived at the same time.) In 2014 and 2015 Lauri did a few solo
performances that combined live guitar ambient and his own dancing.
After several attempts to create a Hotel Oneiros band or work with other
dancers in this avantgarde project Lauri finally got to form in 2017
the collective that immediately took the name Oneiros Resort. Since then the project has performed in many different places and situations and taken in more members. In 2020 just before the pandemic hit Finland Oneiros Resort, for the first time, organized a whole event as a group.
